Law Day 2018

On May 1, 2018, the Rensselaer County Bar Association celebrated Law Day with a full day of events.

In the morning the annual Law Day Ceremony was held at the Rensselaer County Courthouse. Rensselaer County Court Judge Jennifer Sober gave a speech on the Law Day theme: “Separation of Powers: Framework for Freedom”. The Bar Association recognized the Mock Trial Competition and presented trophies to the Emma Willard School the runner up and Columbia High School the 2018 Rensselaer County Champion.

In the afternoon as free CLE for 2 Ethics credits was offered to members of the Bar Association. Sean Morton, Esq., Deputy Clerk of the Court at the Appellate Division Third Judicial Department presented on the topic “Changes to the Attorney Disciplinary Process in New York”.

Law Day culminated with members enjoying our cocktail reception at the Ruck which welcomed new members to the Bar Association.
