On May 1, 2019, the Bar Association celebrated Law Day. This years theme was Free Speech, Free Press, Free Society. United States Magistrate Judge Christian Hummel spoke on the topic at the morning ceremony. The Bar Association also honored its High School Mock Trial Program by awarding trophies to the First Place Team from The Doane Stuart School and Second Place Team the Hudson Valley Homeschool.
In the afternoon a free CLE was offered to bar association members on the topic: “Rensselaer County Local Court Practice 2019”. The presenters were: Hon. Christopher Maier, Troy City Court Judge; Hon. George Burke, III, North Greenbush Town Court Justice and the Hon. Jaime Thomas, Schaghticoke Town Justice.
In evening a cocktail reception was held welcoming new members to the Rensselaer County Bar Association.
