The F. Warren Travers Supreme Court Library is located in the Rensselaer County Courthouse Annex on Second Street. The first meeting of the Board of Trustees was on July 1, 1908. Following an extensive renovations over the years, the library celebrated its Centennial on December 5, 2008. The Library is open from Monday to Friday 8:00-4:30, excluding Court, State and Federal holidays.
The library is one of the most extensive legal research libraries in the State of New York, housing an impressive collection of legal treatises, case books, law reporters and esoteric legal research materials on virtually any subject. The library also has many antique and historical research books and documents. The library also offers on-line Westlaw and Lexis legal research to the public at no charge. The library is staffed and can be reached at (518) 285-6183 during business hours.
